The Israel Securities Authority (ISA) was established under the Securities Law, 5728-1968 and is responsible for protecting the interests of the investing public. ISA's responsibilities include:
- Granting permission for corporations and mutual funds to publish prospectuses.
- Assuring that the TASE is managed correctly and fairly.
Monitoring announcements and disclosures by companies, interested parties and mutual funds, reports of purchase offers, insider transactions with controlling shareholders, and other reports corporations submit to the ISA.
- Regulating and monitoring the activity of the mutual funds industry.
Licensing and supervising portfolio managers and investment advisors.
- Investigating violations of the law
- Promoting the development of market infrastructures and the diversity of financial products.
